Mission
The goal of this project was to create a powerful surprise reveal video for USA Basketball, announcing Cameron Brink's selection to play for the 3x3 team for the 2024 Olympics. The moment was made even more special as one of the USA Basketball team staff members presented her with the official jersey, capturing the genuine emotion and excitement of this significant achievement.
Execution
I was brought in to film the surprise reveal video, which took place at the home of Damion Lee and Sydel Curry. The video aimed to capture the genuine emotion and excitement of the moment, highlighting Brink’s achievement and her journey to the Olympic stage.
Debrief
The video was shared across multiple high-profile social media accounts, including the LA Sparks, USA Basketball, WNBA, Stanford Women's Basketball, and Cameron Brink herself. It quickly gained momentum and amassed tens of millions of views across these platforms. The video was also featured by leading sports and news outlets, including ESPN, Bleacher Report, Yahoo Sports, NBC Sports, Sports Illustrated, NCAA, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, and the New York Times, as well as the official Olympics page. This widespread attention made it one of the most widely viewed pieces of content for USA Basketball leading up to the 2024 Olympics.
